One of my dearest and sweetest friends recently posted this and it is FULL of Wisdom!! It’s a great reminder to us all WHY it is important to go directly to God for direction before we react on our own. I might add that if you must talk to someone about it, the one who offended you, or the one whom you may have offended would be THE ONE to go to. OFTEN, THE OFFENSE is because of a lack of communication, wrong information or a perspective that needs clearing. Our spiritual enemy is PLEASED when we choose to let if stir inside and when we choose the option on the left. But the Word tells us in James 5:16 to “Confess our sins (or wrongs or OFFENSES) to one another SO WE WILL BE HEALED!” LET’S BEGIN THE HEALING & RESTORATION in our homes, our work places, our schools, our churches, our neighborhoods and with all whom have offended us, or those we believe we may have offended. THERE IS FREEDOM and Grace and believe it or not….RESTORATION (as THOUGH it never happened)! THAT is NOT possible alone! GOD IS ABLE to do through you what you cannot do!!! Won’t you join the movement to give grace and take the offense to God in prayer? It’s your choice and no matter what you think or feel…. Your choices matter! And that brings up another thought….but I CHOOSE to save it for another post. Choose to LOVE and make something NEW of the things you love! Don’t toss them out… see the GOOD in the bad and love one another and choose to love something new! Are you prepared at any given moment to fulfill your plans you have been making? You would die if you looked inside my purse, or the back seat of my car. I am not prepared for everything but I am prepared for something’s that matter most to me. There are Kleenex boxes all over my house just in case we need to reach for one. There are brochures, business cards and product samples in a small bag in my purse in case I run into someone and I need to do an on the spot demonstration. Many of my documents that I want access to no matter where I am and regardless of having my laptop with me or not, are saved in files in my Drop Box account or on Google Drive. I can access these files from any computer or on an app on my phone. And of course, there is that diet I am on and if I am not prepared with foods in the house for meal prepping and snacking, it would be easy to settle for something that will blow my efforts. The point I am trying to make is that if you have purposed in your heart to do or achieve something, and then you have gone as far as making a plan to get it done,
Getting a plan together is the second of 5 “P’s” to help you on your path to accomplishing your purpose. I use calendar tools and tricks to help me put my plan into ACTION steps and stick with it. Jim Rohn said in his book, The Art of Exceptional Living, “What is easy to do is easy not to do.” It is the SIMPLE things that are easy to do that are also the simple things that are easy NOT to do. But they are the simple steps that make all the difference. You MUST put your plan into action. You must schedule it and do whatever you need to do to keep your appointments with yourself. CHOOSE to plan and use some simple tools to help you on your journey. Won’t you join the movement to choose? No matter what you think or feel, your choices matter! We have now completed almost two weeks in January and we will be into February soon. The first week of the month, everyone was posting and talking about their goals and visions for this year. Though many have begun weight loss and exercise routines, it is sad to say, but many will be quitting soon before their healthy habits have formed. I believe the reason many fail to follow through on their missions is because though they had great intentions and believe in their hearts with great purpose, they fail to plan their steps. Making a “plan” is today’s focus in this series on reaching our goals. 1. Purpose – Establish the “what and the why.” 2. Plan – Get a plan of action together and schedule it. Write it down & break it down into smaller goals and steps. Set up accountability. This is the “HOW” you will achieve your goals. When I think back on the things I have wanted to do and even began to do but didn’t complete, it has almost always been because
If you do this, you will be able to do what you set out to do. You can accomplish and meet your goals if you choose to purpose in your heart. Purpose is the first of 5 “P’s” and is foundational to your success. CHOOSE to purpose in your heart and join the movement to choose. No matter what you think or feel, your choices matter! The wrapping has come off and some decorations have come down but the parties are not over yet! It’s STILL the holidays and New Years is quickly approaching! Many people celebrate with fancy parties but this year will be more about football parties for many in Oklahoma! At least our home will have food, family, friends and football on for most of the New Years Eve. There are at least two games that will be celebrated from the couch in our TV room. Though I do support our team, and I love to go to a game, I’m not much for sitting and watching it on TV. I like to be doing something so I may have to do a project or two! After all, it is the New Year and I love to begin new things and focus on positive changes during this time of year! As the rest of the Christmas decorations come down, there are always blank spaces and fresh ideas to replace what was there before the holiday trims. This can be done without spending a lot of time or money if you get creative with what you have on hand. It may be a bedroom makeover for my teenage son this week, but I may need to do a few other smaller changes too. Here are some simple ways to get a new look if you are like me and in need of a project:
You know the bells well! You hear them! You see the bell ringers everywhere you go between Thanksgiving and New Years! Sometimes you perhaps like I, stop and give and other times (many times for me) I pass right by. So many reasons and opportunities to give during the season, through the mail, at the register, online, at traffic lights and through the wonderful bell ringers. When you go to a concert, you are most likely given an opportunity to sponsor a child to change a life, a family or a community with your “sacrifice” which usually means giving up coffee in fancy cups, movies out, cable TV or eating out one meal per month. Come on ring those bells and find a way to do something extra for others during this season of giving, or perhaps throughout the year. The Christmas bells will quit ringing soon but the need to ring bells for others will not go away when they do.
We are ONE WEEK away from the biggest gift-giving day of the year! Christmas Day is approaching and the gift wrapping has not started in our home yet. Much has been purchased but there is still much to do and gifts to buy. We are all given 365 days between Christmas days each year but somehow it all comes down to the last minute to get it all done! There was a day when my shopping was completed months ahead as I would not ask anyone what he or she wanted for Christmas because they “wanted” what I found 75% off after Christmas or throughout the year. It was a wonderful gift that was given because I could afford nicer gifts with the discount, but not necessarily the most thoughtful because
We love the bright lights of the Christmas season! Our family enjoys driving around town to enjoy the holiday tradition of Christmas Lights! My favorite displays are the colored LED lights wrapped tightly around the trees and the streets that organize a synchronized display to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra tuned into a radio frequency. From Santa and Frosty to trains and manger scenes, the ones that always grab my attention are the bright and shining light presentations. Last night, a friend pointed out to a group of us gathering to pray that we are approaching the shortest day of the year, which is also the darkest day. This day, December 21st, precedes the day we celebrate Jesus’ birth by just a few days. The days following become brighter and brighter with each successive day. We were also reminded last night that Jesus came to earth as the “light of the world” which in light of the timing, gives this truth greater meaning. The bright and shining star of Bethlehem was indeed the first Christmas light display as it lit up the place where the baby lay. It was so bright, kings and shepherds followed the shining gps star right to the manger. No wonder we still follow the star and the bright shining lights in our communities. It appears to be the longest standing Christmas tradition, going to the homes lit with bright and shining lights. As you celebrate this season filled with bright and shining lights, may the light of the world light your path and guide you into truth. As the days go by, may you shine brighter and brighter as you take the light into the dark places. People need to have light shone upon them and they need to feel the comfort of hope shining in their world. We are to be that light for them as we speak with kindness, give mercy, grace and patience and as we carry the presence of Jesus wherever we go. We are to grow brighter and take the light of the world with us throughout our day. This is the time of year that can be very dark for some and bright for others. The memories of loved ones and realities of life’s struggles present the need for greater light for many. But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light, growing brighter and brighter until full day. Proverbs 4:18 Shine bright and light up your path! Grow brighter and brighter as you take the light of the world that comes this month and share him into the darkness. See how the bright and shining lights of this holiday season can bring comfort and joy and ask yourself this question, “How do I find the path of light for my family?” Then light it up! Let us celebrate the holidays with trims, gifts and traditions and may you choose to seek the light of the world. Let the bright and shining lights of Christmas illuminate your path. Won’t you join the movement and shine brighter? It’s your choice and no matter what you think or feel…. Your choices matter!
